Carys Dougals, la hija de 16 años de Catherine Zeta-Jones y Michael Douglas, ha roto su silencio sobre la muerte de su abuelo, la estrella del Hollywood dorado, Kirk Douglas esta semana a los 103 años. Le ha escrito un tierno mensaje a través de Instagram que ha acompañado con una bonita foto del actor en la que aparece de perfil, con los ojos cerrados y una flor blanca en el pelo.

Cuenta que "Pappy fue y será siempre mi inspiración, mi mayor apoyo y el mejor abuelo del mundo", y recuerda cuando la mandaba sus vídeos bailando y él le preguntaba: "Carys, ¿cuándo vamos a bailar juntos?". La joven ha respondido a aquella pregunta de esta foma tan enternecedora: "Siempre estaré guardando ese último baile para ti".

?? My Pappy was and forever will be my inspiration, my biggest supporter and the best grandpa in the world. I remember I would send him videos of me from my dance competitions and he would watch them on repeat. He would always ask me “Carys, when are we going to dance together?” This is how he was with our entire family, always ready to hear what new shows we were in, what sports we were playing, what new songs I was singing. He was, and still is a tremendous inspiration to the world through not only his incredible acting career, but his philanthropy and generosity that moved mountains. Although he was adored by millions, to me he was my Pappy, my superhero. He came from nothing yet, through his drive and determination, made a name for himself. He joined our family together and lived an incredible long life. I spent 16 years of my life loving and being loved by Kirk Douglas and that is the greatest gift I could ever have. I will forever be saving that last dance for you Pappy. I love you. ?

Ha reconocido Carys que Kirk Douglas ha sido "una tremenda inspiración para el mundo, no solo por su increíble carrera como actor, sino también por su filantropía y generosidad". Porque, aunque para el mundo fuera el actor de Espartaco, para ella era su "Pappy, mi superhéroe", alguien que "venía de la nada y a través de su impulso y determinación se hizo un hombre", y a él le ha agradecido sus 16 años "amando y siendo amada por Kirk Douglas" porque ese "es el mejor regalo que podía tener". "Te quiero", le ha escrito una vez más.

Lo hace el día que la familia Douglas despide a Kirk Douglas en un funeral privado en Los Ángeles. Catherine Zetha-Jones junto a Michael Douglas, la segunda esposa del actor, Anne Buydens, y amigos cercanos como Steven Spielberg le han dado el último adiós.
